Meet Lee Marshall, Virtual Assistant

Lee Marshall is the owner/operator of Greased Wheel Virtual Assistance. After receiving a BS in education, Lee spent more than twelve years working in the insurance industry. The majority of that time was with Travelers Property Casualty, working as a claim representative, supervisor and manager. She served as a resource to others, offering technical assistance, training and guidance to the claim staff, developing objectives and evaluating performance. Using solid business experience and inter-personal skills, she was able to promote communication, teamwork, motivation and positive morale among employees, as well as win the respect and satisfaction of agents and customers.

Lee also spent time at EDS as the manager of a start-up claim processing operation. There she developed, documented and implemented operational claim processing procedures for both a manual and automated environment. She determined the need for and identified appropriate outside resources, developing relationships with the vendors to procure superior service. She worked with technical teams to develop test cases for system and model office testing, overseeing the data input process to help identify and resolve problems. Lee also served as a resource to other business units by providing ad hoc analysis of business processes and staffing, making recommendations for improvement.

While at EDS, Lee and husband Tim found themselves expecting twin boys and Lee then decided to make the transition to life at home. Once the boys gained some independence, she wanted to create a career that would combine the flexibility of a home-based business with the satisfaction of being able to use and build upon her extensive experience. That’s when Greased Wheel Virtual Assistance was born.

Lee then completed the intensive virtual training program offered by Assist University. Since then, Lee has been working to build her practice gaining additional skills and experiences, partnering with her clients and making their success her number one goal. After nearly two successful years in operation, Lee returned to Assist U to undergo a rigorous 8 week examination to earn the designation of Certified Professional Virtual Assistant.
